Spring usually means online MLB betting, but college football betting players will have their eyes on the spring games as teams start to see who they can build around. There’s a huge task at Texas for coach Mack Brown as the Longhorns missed the postseason for the first time since 1997, and they may look to the younger brother of their former start pivot.

Case McCoy was the best player in Texas’ spring game, and while he isn’t even as big as older brother Colt, who is a legend in Austin, McCoy is going into his sophomore year, which means he has time to fill out. Most of his work in the spring game came against the first-team defense with the second-string offense, which is a good sign for McCoy (or a bad sign for the defense, however you want to look at it). McCoy is battling with last year’s starter, Garrett Gilbert, who took over for Colt, and he has a chance as Gilbert had a problem with turnovers in 2010, and that was a major reason that the Longhorns finished 5-7.

There will be a lot of pressure on McCoy if he does win the starting job because he’s going to play in the shadow of Colt, who finished with the all-time NCAA record for wins as a starting quarterback. The Longhorns also have a new offensive coordinator in Bryan Harsin, who left Boise State, so there’s a new offense to learn. But McCoy is off to a good start, and could play a major part in Texas improving their sports betting odds next season.

Just one more week of action before we get to examine the BCS Championship Game odds, Orange Bowl odds, Sugar Bowl odds, Fiesta Bowl odds and Rose Bowl odds.

Basically, here is what we know: Cincinnati is going to the Orange Bowl to face the champ from the ACC (Virginia Tech or Boston College). Penn State is going to the Rose Bowl to face USC, while the SEC Championship and Oklahoma, if they win the Big 12 Championship, will go to the BCS Championship Game. That should put Texas in Fiesta bowl, probably again Utah, and then Alabama will face Ohio State – or maybe Boise State – in the Sugar Bowl.

Some intriguing matchups and hopefully some good sportsbook odds. Utah will get killed.

With the college football season nearing the end and the NFL season entering the final quarter, there’s plenty of action this weekend that will keep me glued to the couch.

We’ve got the Civil War, with Oregon vs Oregon State betting, with a Rose Bowl berth on the line for Oregon State. We’ve got the Steelers vs Patriots odds in Gilette Stadium, which denotes AFC supremacy. And we’ve got the Jaguars vs Texans odds on Monday Night Football. Enjoy the latter game.

But here’s a shocker in what might be the biggest game of the weekend:

Everyone is talking about how much the BCS is going to factor in a potential tie in the Big 12 between Oklahoma and Texas but everyone is forgetting that there are Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State odds to deal with first.

I’m predicting Oklahoma State causes Bedlam and upsets Oklahoma this Northbet.com wagering weekend in what is their biggest game in school history. This is their Super Bowl and they will be focused on putting on a show at their new stadium. The bye week should also help.
