March Madness betting fans might have to introduce NFL betting fans about the madness. The Buffalo Bills have already produced some madness earlier this offseason when they shocked sportsbook oddsmakers by acquiring Terrell Owens. Can they pull another shocker?

Apparently, sportsbook oddsmakers noticed that Jay Cutler’s – and Tony Scheffler’s – agent, Bus Cook, was spending some time in Buffalo yesterday.

NFL betting fans are trying to connect the dots, but the only thing that would makes sense is that Cook was trying to work on a deal with the Bills for either Cutler or Scheffler – or both.

NFL betting fans in Buffalo are excited about these prospects, even if they have to give up a couple of first-round picks and a player. Cutler is worth it and in the sportsbook, the Bills would automatically become a Super Bowl contender with Cutler, Scheffler and Owens in the lineup.

The sportsbook odds makers have pulled the Buffalo Bills lines down for the Super Bowl futures wagering. Obviously, the acquisition of Cutler would make a huge change in perception for the Bills in the sportsbook, so right now, it has to be pulled down.

It’s premature and it is also speculation, but that’s what makes it so fun for NFL betting fans.

What do you think NFL betting fans? This one definitely caught you off-guard.

Of all the city that the enigmatic Terrell Owens could play in, he choses Buffalo? That’s fairly strange. What is he going to be doing in that city?

Sportsbook odds had the New England Patriots and New York Jets as the favorite destinations, but as it turns out, he’ll be with a different AFC East team: the Bills.

Quarterback Trent Edwards now has someone to work with but you have to wonder if sportsbook odds will adjust for this now. NFL betting fans probably will care about the Bills a little bit more but unless they can start beating some good teams in the league, nobody is going to shed that ‘disappointment’ label off them.

Owens is a one-year rental and the Bills have to make the playoffs for this to work. With the Dolphins, Patriots and Jets in their division, adding just Owens won’t be enough. Sportsbook odds still have them finishing outside the playoffs.

You might be distracted by UFC 95 betting, and the upcoming March Madness betting hoopla, but let’s focus on the NFL for just a minute (and not just NFL betting).

Start your countdown, free agency begins in eight days! Teams have already started – and have been playing – franchise tag and nine players have already received the designation.

Linebacker Karlos Dansby (ARZ), Punter Michael Koenen (ATL), Linebacker/defensive end Terrell Suggs.  (BAL), Matt Cassel (NE), Running back Brandon Jacobs (NYG), Running back Darren Sproles (SD), Safety Oshiomogho Atogwe (STL), Receiver Antonio Bryant (TB).

Should be interesting. Guys like Sproles have been tagged, but he might just get traded. Another guy like Julius Peppers could earn a tag as well, just so the Panthers get something for him.

NFL betting is like 200 days and counting. For now, I’m looking forward to UFC 95 lines and the World Baseball Classic odds. But I still have my eye on the NFL.

I’ve been busy with the Daytona 500 line, and looking forward to March Madness betting, but I figured I’d pass this along to you guys since I saw it on the net. This is the Raiders new 50th season logo:

It still doesn’t change that JaMarcus Russell is overweight, and the franchise sucks, but the logo looks cool. Not sure if those who bet sports are going to care so much.

Until March Madness betting rolls around, we’re going to be to talk about all sorts of petty stuff in the NFL or football.

Yesterday, Lane Kiffin, former head coach of the Oakland Raiders and current head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers, called out Urban Meyer. Of all people to call out, you might not want to call out the guy who has arguably been the best coach in your sport over the last three years. Especially when you are days into your first college football head coaching job.

Online betting handicappers were wondering about Lane Kiffin when he was fired in Oakland. The general consensus was that he did have the team heading in the right direction and that he was wrongfully dismissed.

But now, just months after he was fired in a public forum and called a liar without a chance to defend himself, he did the same to Meyer, at a breakfast in front of fans and media.

Sportsbook bettors are now starting to question Kiffin. He was the victim before, now we’re wondering if we had him pegged wrong.

As we’ve seen with the college basketball trends, sometimes a coach is good at coordinating but not good at heading a team.

Alright sportsbook bettors. It’s a quiet day in the NFL. You can expect that for about the next 200 days or so. Todd Weiner, who for all intents and purposes is an inconsequential NFL player, has retired. Yes, that’s the news of the day.

Not much else.

Actually, today is the first day you can start using your franchise tag on players.

How’s that for excitement.

Sportsbook bettors, I can’t wait for March Madness betting. Please tell me it’s soon?

Sportsbook lines are completely empty in the signing day department. Do you honestly care?

Some people talk about signing day as it if NFL Draft Jr. In some ways it is, but I think the NFL is a much safer bet because you know more about the players, and you know more about the teams that they are going to.

Right now, we have a bunch of five-star recruits, who sometime go up to college and style on some people, and then there are others who just disappear.

I guess in a roundabout way what I’m saying is that there is a higher bust percentage.

I’ll check back at the end of the signing day to see who’s classes are best-ranked, but I’m not going to be in my sportsbook betting on this stuff or monitoring it in real time.
