Super Bowl betting players have one more round to get through before they begin wagering on the big game, and here is who we think will represent their conference in Dallas in a little over two weeks.

Packers Bears Betting – Sunday, 3:00 PM ET

The Packers are favored by 3.5 points on the road in Chicago, where they are 2-3 SU and 3-2 ATS in their last five trips. These NFC North rivals are meeting for the first time in the postseason since 1941, and they split their two meetings during the regular season with the home team winning each time. This is a tough NFL pick to make, but you have to take Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers over Chicago’s Jay Cutler, who made his first postseason start since high school just last week. Not only is Rodgers playing great, he has good numbers against the Bears.

NFL Picks: Green Bay -3.5

Jets Steelers Betting – Sunday, 6:30 PM ET

The Steelers are 3.5-point favorites against the Jets at Heinz Field, where New York came away with a 22-17 win in Week 15. That win made the Jets 1-4 SU and 2-3 ATS in their last five visits to Pittsburgh, and the Steelers will be looking to shut down a New York ground game that was just one of three to go for 100 yards or more against them this season. We’re giving the edge to the Steelers, and even though the Jets have proved people wrong all season, we think they’ve run out of gas at your online sportsbook.

NFL Picks: Pittsburgh -3.5

Super Bowl betting players are gearing up for an exciting second round in the playoffs, and it could be better than last week’s wild-card weekend of insanity.

Ravens Steelers Betting – Saturday, 4:30 PM ET

Pittsburgh are 3-point home favorites against their AFC North rivals, and even though the road team won both games this season, we’re sticking with the Steelers at home with a tie bet on the spread; the last four games between these two have been decided by a field goal.

Packers Falcons Betting – Saturday, 8:00 PM ET

The Packers come into Atlanta as 2.5-point underdogs, but we’re going with the upset based off their win in Philadelphia last week, their defense is better than Atlanta, and the Packers really should have won their Week 12 trip to the Georgia Dome. They won’t make the mistakes they made back then.

Seahawks Bears Betting – Saturday, 1:00 PM ET

The Seahawks are 10-point underdogs for the second straight week, but this is a different Chicago team than the one they faced in Week 6. The Bears are much better up front, and they’re coming off a bye now, and in Week 6, it was the Seahawks were coming off a bye week.

Jets Patriots Betting – Sunday, 4:30 PM ET

The Patriots are 8.5-point home favorites against their AFC East rivals, and the line is so high because of their 45-3 romp at home over the Jets in Week 13. It won’t be a 42-point win this week, but we think the Patriots win comfortably. New England is 15-4 after a bye week under Bill Belichick, and that’s enough to earn our sports betting online faith.

I know you are focused on March Madness odds, but here’s some other numbers I was passed along.

WHICH CITY WILL BE AWARDED THE 2013 SUPER BOWL?

NEW ORLEANS – sportsbook odds: -200
MIAMI – sportsbook odds: +600
LOS ANGELES/PASSADENA – sportsbook odds: +600
ARIZONA – sportsbook odds: +1500
HOUSTON – sportsbook odds: +1000
TAMPA BAY – sportsbook odds: +2000
ATLANTA – sportsbook odds: +800
MINNESOTA – sportsbook odds: +2000
DETROIT – sportsbook odds: +2000

I think at this point, I would stick with the sportsbook favorite of New Orleans. Mostly because it is so hard to gage right now.

Still a few more days to kill until betting on Super Bowl 43 really gets going. So let’s do some musing about next year’s potential surprise teams in Super Bowl betting. Who could come out of nowhere and become next year’s Cardinals?

1. Cleveland Browns — is it that much of a stretch? Some pundits thought they’d be one of the choices in betting on Super Bowl 43 this year. A full year of Brady Quinn, plus a new coach and GM, plus a great O-line could mean the Browns will improve dramatically.

2. Green Bay Packers – the passing game is there, the running game should improve over this year’s stinker performance and Dom Capers is running the defense now. Toss in a free-agent signing — Julius Peppers? — and this team could win 10 games.

3. Buffalo Bills – all they need is a quarterback. Good featured back, massive O-line, capable defense.

4. Detroit Lions – just kidding. They should just buy tickets for next year’s Super Bowl odds.

Super Bowl XLIII betting is taking up most of the NFL attention nowadays, but leave it to the Dallas Cowboys to make sure they aren’t forgotten this offseason. Already, Pacman Jones has been released under allegations of yet another shooting, we’ve had Troy Aikman calling out Tony Romo for going on a vacation before a playoff loss last season, and now, Michael Irvin will be the host of a reality show that gives one person a chance to win a spot on the Cowboys’ roster.

This is the LAST thing the Cowboys need, which is more cameras and more attention. The locker room is a mess, and it all started in the preseason when Dallas was featured in the “Hard Knocks” series. Now they want more cameras? I’ll only think this is a great idea if Emmitt Smith is Irvin’s co-host. There should actually be a Super Bowl XLIII betting prop to see how many mistakes Smith makes on Super Bowl Sunday’s pregame show.

A small break in the Super Bowl XLIII betting action to talk about the NFL draft, to be held on April 25 and 26 in its usual home of New York City. This draft will not have the name recognition of recent years, as most of the high-profile quarterbacks chose to stay in school.

Georgia’s Matthew Stafford and USC’s Mark Sanchez are generally expected to be the first two quarterbacks picked, but they lucked out as Heisman-winning Sam Bradford of Oklahoma, former Heisman winner Tim Tebow and Texas’ Colt McCoy returned to school for glory (any more glory for Tebow and he may explode, but that’s another story). The first three Northbet.com teams (Detroit, St. Louis and Kansas City) all need a new quarterback badly, and after the success of Matt Ryan in Atlanta and Joe Flacco in Baltimore, teams will probably be more accepting to pick a pivot with their first-round pick.

It’s not like any of those three teams will have good Super Bowl betting odds next season, but it’s a start, right?

Super Bowl XLIII betting players who are going with Arizona must be a bit worried by Anquan Boldin’s argument with offensive coordinator Todd Haley in the second half of their 32-25 win over Philadelphia to go to the Super Bowl. If you missed it:

Now, everyone is saying “that’s just part of the game” and “emotion” and whatnot, but Boldin’s been angry with the Cardinals all season due to a contract dispute, and they need him 100% focused for this contest. Boldin’s ability to draw coverage underneath allows Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Breaston to take their defender deep in one-on-one coverage. If the Cardinals want to overcome these Super Bowl XLIII betting odds, they need all of their weapons.

The AFC was as hard-hitting as we expected in this contest featuring the top two defenses in the NFL. Baltimore’s Joe Flacco finally showed his rookie inexperience, throwing three picks as the Pittsburgh Steelers advanced with a 23-14 victory, covering the 5.5-point NFL spread. Big plays also carried the Steelers to the Super Bowl, as Santonio Holmes caught a 65-yard touchdown pass, while Troy Polamalu’s 40-yard interception for a score late in the fourth quarter sealed the game for Pittsburgh.

Arizona overcame the NFL betting odds to beat Philadelphia 32-25 at home as 4-point underdogs, and the Cardinals are now headed to their first Super Bowl. The Arizona defense continued their improvement, forcing three turnovers from the Eagles, while Kurt Warner was amazing, going 21-of-28 for 279 yards and four touchdowns.

Super Bowl XLIII odds have come out, with the Steelers opening up as 7-point favorites to win their sixth Super Bowl, while Arizona are under no pressure at all as their fans are just ecstatic to be mentioned in the same sentence as “Super Bowl XLIII Betting“.
